About Us

Mind On Side is a specialist support service built from lived experience, created to walk beside individuals who are navigating addiction, mental health challenges, neurodivergence, or trauma — and help them move towards lasting recovery, stability, and meaningful employment.

We know how overwhelming life can feel when you're dealing with complex barriers. Whether it’s anxiety, ADHD, autism, PTSD, depression, or the challenges of addiction recovery, many people feel stuck — unsure how to take the next step, where to go for help, or how to break the cycle of setbacks.

That’s where Mind On Side comes in. We're not a government agency. We’re a real, grassroots service that understands what it’s like to feel lost in the system — and we’re here to do things differently.

What We Do

We offer one-to-one coaching, life skills development, and workplace support — all tailored to the individual. Our mission is simple: to help people build a life they feel proud of and guide them back into work that feels right for them.

We support our clients through:

  • Addiction and mental health coaching

  • Access to Work applications and guidance

  • Personal development and confidence-building

  • Neurodivergent workplace strategies

  • Support for sustaining employment

  • Life skills like budgeting, structure, and self-care

Through Access to Work funding, we can often provide this support entirely free of charge, including any equipment or coaching needed to succeed in the workplace.

Who We Help

Our service is open to anyone aged 16+ in the UK who is:

  • In recovery or actively trying to reduce harm

  • Living with mental health conditions

  • Neurodivergent (including ADHD, autism, dyslexia)

  • Struggling to stay in work due to health-related challenges

  • Feeling isolated, anxious, or unsure how to move forward

You do not need to be on benefits, and you don’t need a formal diagnosis to start.

Why This Matters

Too many people fall through the cracks — lost between treatment services, job centres, and mental health teams. People who are capable, intelligent, and motivated, but who just need someone on their side to help them believe again and take the right steps at the right time.

Mind On Side was founded because we believe recovery should lead somewhere. Employment isn’t just about money — it’s about purpose, routine, social connection, and pride. We help our clients reach a place where they’re not just surviving — they’re thriving.

Our End Goal

A future where you can say:
“I have a job I enjoy.”
✅ “My mental health is manageable.”
✅ “I’ve got structure and support.”
✅ “I’m finally moving forward.”

That’s what we work towards, together.
