๐งพ About Kevin
Founder | Recovery and Work Support Specialist | Lived Experience Practitioner
I’m Kevin, founder of Mind on Side — a support service built on lived experience, honesty, and real recovery.
I know first-hand how hard it is to rebuild your life after addiction. The mental battles don’t end when the using stops — they just change. Getting back into work, dealing with anxiety, finding routine, and facing stigma can feel overwhelming. That’s why I created this service.
As a Recovery and Work Support Specialist, I work with people who are navigating addiction recovery or mental health challenges and are either:
-
in work and struggling to stay well
-
looking to return to work
-
or preparing to take that first step
Through Mind on Side, I offer trauma-aware, person-centred coaching funded through Access to Work. That means my clients can get practical, emotional support — like building routines, managing triggers, handling interviews, or adjusting to the workplace — without needing to pay privately.
I don’t just bring qualifications — I bring experience. I’ve been through this myself. I support people with no judgment, no pressure, and no pretence — just steady, consistent help that works in the real world.

Getting Support Through Access to Work
If you’re in recovery, living with a mental health condition, or managing ongoing challenges that affect your work — you may be entitled to fully funded support through the UK government’s Access to Work scheme.
โ What Is Access to Work?
Access to Work is a government-funded programme that pays for extra support if you have a physical or mental health condition, or you’re in addiction recovery, and it affects your ability to work or stay in work.
๐ท How Much Funding Is Available?
Access to Work can fund up to £66,000 per year (2024/25 figures) to cover practical or emotional support — including 1:1 coaching, workplace support, and tools that help you succeed in your job or move toward employment.
๐ Will It Affect My Benefits or Wages?
No.
This is NOT a loan.
You don’t have to pay it back.
It does NOT affect your benefits or Universal Credit.
It’s separate from any other support you receive.
โ It’s free help, funded directly by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
