The Founder
About me
Kevin Robertson, Founder of Mind On Side, created this service after navigating his own recovery journey and recognising how much of a gap there was in support for people already in employment.
"When you're trying to recover while holding down a job, it's exhausting. You're expected to be stable, reliable, focused - even when inside, you're fighting every day. I built Mind On Side so people wouldn't have to do that alone."
Kevin's lived experience is backed by training in recovery coaching/support, trauma-informed training, and his personal mental health experience. Every member of the team shares the same values: real empathy, real experience, and no judgement.

Mind On Side
"We believe recovery and employment can go hand in hand - with the right support"
At Mind On Side, we support people who are managing addiction recovery, mental health conditions, or emotional challenges - while also trying to stay in work.
We know how tough that can be. That's why we created a service that puts lived experience, understanding, and respect at the heart of every session.
Our Mission
To help people stay in work, stay in recovery, and build a life they're proud of.
We support clients to:
- Build confidence, routines, and long-term resilience
- Access the right support at the right time, funded by Access to Work
- Manage stress, anxiety, triggers and relapse risks at work.
Our Values
At Mind On Side, our work is built on trust, compassion, and lived experience. We believe that recovery is possible — and that people deserve support that meets them where they are, not where others expect them to be.
- Lived Experience First = we walk the path with you, not ahead of you.
- Confidential Support - No one else needs to know unless you choose to tell them.
- Trauma-Informed - We understand how past experience shapes the present
- Person-Centred - No two recovery journeys are the same - and we treat you that way.
- Inclusion, not stigma
- Confidentiality & Consent
Why We're Different
Unlike many services, we don't wait for a crisis to offer support - and we don't pull away if you stumble. We understand relapse, fear, self-doubt, and the pressure of keeping a job while healing.
We're not a clinical service. We're not a therapy service.
We're a real-life support service that meets you where you are, at work and in recovery.
