Helping Your Team Stay in Work

At Mind On Side, we work with employers who want to support staff struggling with addiction recovery, mental health, or personal challenges - without adding pressure or cost to the business.

We provide specialist, confidential support funded by the UK Government's Access to Work scheme, meaning your employee can receive up to £69,260 per year in support, fully paid for.

Why Support Matters

Employees in recovery or struggling with their mental health are often trying to stay afloat without letting it show - but the impact on performance, attendance, and wellbeing is real. Providing structured, trauma-informed support:

Improve staff retention

At Mind On Side, our mission is to help people stay in work while managing recovery. When employers retain staff who are facing addiction, mental health, or wellbeing challenges — instead of losing them — everyone benefits. If you support this work model, please get in touch.

Reduce sick days & absenteeism

At Mind On Side, we know that behind every sick day or absence, there’s often a deeper struggle — stress, anxiety, addiction, burnout, or fear of being judged. We don’t just look at absence as a business issue — we see it as a sign that someone needs support.

Boost confidence & workplace morale

At Mind On Side, we work with people who are often doing something incredibly hard — holding down a job while managing recovery, mental health struggles, or personal challenges. Confidence and morale aren’t just nice extras — they’re essential to survival in that space.

Demonstrates that you're a responsible and inclusive employer

At Mind On Side, we believe that real change happens when people are seen, supported, and included — no matter what their past looks like or what they’re currently facing. That’s why we work with individuals, employers, and communities to create workplaces that are both responsible and inclusive.

"Supporting your team through recovery isn't just the right thing to do - it's good for business"

How Can Mind On Side Help

We support your staff  in ways that are practical, professional, and respectful. Our support includes:

1:1 addiction recovery coaching

At Mind On Side, we support employees who are in addiction recovery, living with trauma, or struggling with their mental health — and we do it through confidential, Access to Work-funded 1:1 recovery coaching.

This isn’t just good for the individual — it’s good for your business too.

Workplace mental health check-ins

At Mind On Side, we understand that work can feel overwhelming when your mental health isn’t in a good place. That’s why we offer 1:1, confidential support to help employees manage stress, anxiety, low mood, and burnout — without judgement.

Life skills and routine-building for people on MAT or in early recovery

At Mind On Side, we help employees on Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) or in early recovery build the daily structure and life skills they need to stay well - and stay in work

Support with communication, anxiety, disclosure, and confidence

At Mind On Side, we take the pressure off employers by providing specialist, 1:1 support to staff who are struggling with addiction, mental health, or emotional wellbeing — all funded by the Access to Work scheme.

Optional advocacy or involvement          (only with client consent)

At Mind On Side, we understand that some employees may benefit from a bit of extra support when it comes to communication at work. That’s why we offer optional advocacy — but only if the client agrees

All support is trauma-informed and delivered by trained lived-experience practitioners.
